Hello and welcome to my EPL Blog. Yesterday, there was 8 matches in the English Premier League.
Today, on Super Sunday there is a derby match between Sunderland between Newcastle and QPR vs Everton.

This match was played at The Hawthorns, as 4th placed West Brom hosted EPL defending champions Manchester City in an interesting top 6 match.
In the 24th minute, Vincent Komapny lost the ball to pacy West Brom striker Shane Long who burst towards the goal before being brought down on the edge of the area.
In the 40th minute, striker Mario Balotelli skilled up three West Brom defenders down the wing before having a powerful shot parried away by West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster.
At half-time it was 0-0, with Manchester City the happier of the sides, as the had been brought down to ten men, and still had goalscoring chances.
In the 47th minute, Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez had a curling shot from 20 yards out parreid away by Ben Foster.
In the 58th minute, a City free-kick was missed by Balotelli, Richards and Yaya Toure inside the box. Toure's header was over the bar, and Richards' header was across goal, and Balotelli mis-kicked a veolley.
In the 67th minute, West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie passed the ball into the box, for Shane Long who was just onside to tap the ball past a helpless Joe Hart into the net to break the deadlock.
In the 80th minute, Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko headed City into an equaliser after a Carlos Tevez free-kick was whipped into the box, and Foster was off his line.
In the 90th minute, Romelu Lukaku had a header from 6 yards out comfortably saved by Manchester City goalkeeper goalkeeper Joe Hart.
In the 90+1st minute, Lukaku had another shot, but this time, he had an overhead kick which was curling into the top corner acrobatically saved by Joe Hart AGAIN.
1 minute later, Manchester City went on a dangerous counter attack, after a West Brom corner was cleared away, and striker Edin Dzeko popped up again, to slot the ball past Ben Foster into the net.

The match ended 2-1 to Manchester City, who left it late to score and win the match.
Both Manchester City and West Brom played great football, and The Baggies were unlucky not to win the match in the end.

It is half-time at The Sports Direct Arena, as the hosts Sunderland trail by 1 goal to nil thanks to a 2nd minute strike by French midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
Cabaye took advantage of a poor Sunderland defence, with a counter attack. Striker Shola Ameobi took a shot from the the far post, and after Mignolet parried the ball away to Cabaye, he blasted the ball straight into the net to make it 1-0.
In the 24th minute, Newcastle midfielder Chieck Toite was given a straight red card after showing studs and tackling striker Steven Fletcher after a push by James McClean.
The match intensity has increased ten-fold, and tackles were flying in at this point.
There has been over 5 shouts for handball and penalties/free-kicks.
Sunderland were trying to get back into the match, having a men extra over their fierce rivals, but they kept losing the ball and have not tested Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul well enough so far.
They came close once, with midfielder Craig Gardner's swerving low free-kick just wide of the post.
Demba Ba had an acrobatic overhead kick missed over the bar, and the score is still 1-0 at half-time. Expect some late drama and some more controversy in the second half.

QPR are off to a great start, and they have scored in the first 2 minutes of the match at home.
The shot took a deflection from a Everton defender and span out of control before beating goalkeeper Tim Howards, but it is a goal nonetheless.
