He has made a few notable mistakes already so far this season, including in games against Cardiff City and Aston Villa - with the media all over the world watching his every move questioning whether he has the quality and consistency to stay as England's No.1 goalkeeper ahead of other goalkeepers including impressive Celtic star Fraser Forster who is heroic for his side during Champions League games and Stoke City's young startlet Jack Butland who is currently out on loan.
International recognition: Celtic goalkeeper Forster was MOTM against Barca last season. |
Celtic's hero: Fraser Forster is impressing with his consistent displays in the UCL |
Diving low: Forster kept Celtic in the game against Barcelona on Tuesday on several occasions. |
Forster is giving English team-mate Joe Hart a selection dilemma with his displays |
Pressure: Forster is breathing down Hart's neck for the England No.1 goalkeeper spot. |
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that Hart has admitted he has not played particularly well over the past few months, but is keen to shake off his bad form and perform to a high level which is encouraging for a relatively-young goalkeeper who still has potential at 25. Hodgson picked both Forster and Hart for his international qualifiers next week but I am sure that the media will be keen to see who he starts in both of England's crunch matches.
At this point in time (in terms of form):
1. Fraser Forster
2. Joe Hart
3. John Ruddy
4. Jack Butland
But we will see..
