Deadly Partnership #1 - Sturridge and Suarez:

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez returned to the EPL after his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic back in April this past Sunday with a bang, scoring two goals in a comfortable 3-1 win against Sunderland with team-mate and fellow striker Daniel Sturridge scoring the other goal for Liverpool.

Back with a bang: Suarez celebrates his goal with team-mate and fellow strike partner Daniel Sturridge after a comfortable 3-1 win over Sunderland
Poacher: Suarez took advantage of a mistake to tap into an empty net on his EPL return

Guess who's back? Suarez celebrates - a sight many defenders will not want to see.

Sturridge is a man in-form, and has already scored 7 goals in all competitions this season - the inclusion of Suarez in an encouraging Liverpool team will only make him and the squad better with time.

Clinical: Sturridge celebrates his goal against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon

In-form: Sturridge has already scored 7 goals from all competitions this season, including 5 in the EPL.
Suarez meanwhile was very close to winning the Golden Boot - had he not got banned and missed the last few fixtures of the season he probably would have beaten van Persie to his second consecutive Golden Boot crown, but you have to watch and admire the talent on display in terms of Liverpool's attacking options.

Coutinho in the middle, Sterling on the left and Moses on the right with Sturridge and Suarez up-front will be deadly against any team this season.

Here are my top 5 deadly striking partnerships in the EPL (in no particular order):

  • Southampton - Lallana, Lambert and Osvaldo
  • Arsenal - Ozil, Ramsey/Cazorla and Giroud
  • Liverpool - Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez
  • Tottenham - Eriksen, Soldado and Defoe
  • Manchester City - Silva, Toure and Aguero

My next deadly partnership post may be out sometime next week, speak to you all later for more content everyone :)
