Euro 2012 Playoffs, International Friendlies and EPL News LIVE:


Yesterday's Euro 2012 Playoff 2nd Legs:

Turkey 0 Croatia 0 (Agg 0-3)
It was a goaless draw in Turkey as Croatia sealed their Euro 2012 qualification due to a 3-0 lead from the first leg.

LATEST: Guus Hiddink has left the Turkey coach position after they failed to qualify for Euro 2012.

Montenegro 0 Czech Republic 1 (Agg 0-1)
Jiracek scored the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute as the Czech's proceed to the Euro 2012 group stages.

Portugal 6 Bosnia 2 (Agg 6-2)
Real Madrid midfielder Cristano Ronaldo scored the first goal of the match in the 8th minute. Former team mate and Manchester United winger Luis Nani made it 2-0 to Portugal in the 24th minute. Misimovic made it 2-1 just before half-time from a penalty in the 43rd minute. Ronaldo scored his second of the day in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1. Lulic got two yellow cards in two minutes and was dimissed in the 54th minute to put Bosnia down to 10 men. Spahic made it 3-2 in the 65th minute to put pressure on Portugal. Helder Postiga made it 4-2 to Portugal in the 72nd minute and Miguel Veloso finished the match in the 80th minute. Postiga scored his second in 10 minutes in the 82nd minute to make it a 6-2 thrashing. 

Republic Of Ireland 1 Estonia 1 (Agg 5-1)
All Ireland had to do was not to concede 4 goals at home and they would have qualified due to a 4-0 first leg win. This is what they did. Wolves midfielder Steve Ward made it 1-0 to the home side from a poacher goal inside the 6 yard box in the 31st minute. Vassiljev made it 1-1 with a speculative effort from 30 yards out in the 57thh minute but it ended 1-1 and the Republic of Ireland prevailed.

FACT: The Republic of Ireland have made it to a European Championship for the first time since 2002. 

Brazil 2014 World Cup Qualification:
Colombia 1 Argentina 2
Diego Pabon broke the deadlock in the 45th minute to make it 1-0 to the home side. Barcelona striker Lionel Messi levelled the scoring in the 61st minute. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero scored a late winner for Argentina in the 85th minute.

International Friendlies:
Yesterday:

England 1 Sweden 0
England played against Sweden at Wembley and fielded a young squad which included Jack Rodwell, Kyle Walker and Phil Jones. In the 22nd minute, a header from Gareth Barry deflected off defender Majstorovic and went past the goalkeeper. In the end it was 1-0 to England. England missed lots of chances from Jack Rodwell and Phil Jones and could have scored more. Sweden also did not take their chances and did not test Scott Carson in goal.

FACT: Gareth Barry scored the 2,000th England goal in history yesterday.
FACT: England beat Sweden for the first time in 43 years.
FACT: England have not lost a single game this year.


Italy 0 Uruguay 1
Fernandez scored the only goal of the match in the 3rd minute for the away side.

France 0 Belgium 0
A goaless draw in France as the hosts and Belguim shared the spoils.

Denmark 2 Finland 1
AJ Eremenko broke the deadlock for Finland in the 18th minute. Liverpool defender Daniel Agger levelled in the 57th minute. Sunderland loanee striker (from Arsenal) Nicklas Bendtner made it 2-1 to Denmark two minutes later. The match ended 2-1 in Denmark's favour and Finland gave them a good challenge to prepare them for next summer's Euro 2012.

Germany 3 Holland 0
Germany beat last year's WC runners up Holland. Bayerm Munich striker Tim Muller scored the first goal of the game the 15th minute. Fellow team-mate Miroslav Klose made it 2-0 to the home side 11 minutes afterwards. Mesut Ozil made it 3-0 in the 66th minute to ensure Holland could not stage a comeback.

Costa Rica 2 Spain 2
Robert Brenes broke the deadlock in the 31st minute. New Arsenal striker Joel Campbell made it 2-0 in the 44th minute. Manchester City winger David Silva brought a goal back for Spain in the 83rd minute. Barcelona striker David Villa put the European and WC Champions level in the 90th minute and it was a dramatic 2-2 finish.




EPL News:
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar insists he has 'no regrets' about joining Tottenham from Everton.

Everton striker Louis Saha has denied he is lining up a return to France with PSG.

Inter Milan are interested in re-signing Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. He has denied reports and said that he would like to stay in the EPL for the rest of his career as he feels it is the best league in the world.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell says he wants the Champions League to be expanded by shortening the EPL to 16 teams so the CL can be played on weekends as well as midweek.
I like the idea, but I do not see the Championship getting even bigger than it is now and no-one would want the EPL to shorten.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said defender Robert Huth and midfielder Glenn Whelan are to be offered new long-term contracts at Stoke. He is also interested in £2million rated Birmingham defender Lian Ridgewell. Looks feasible along with Scott Dann... they need a defensive line if they are going to play in the Europa League every year and maintain their position in the EPL.

PSG are reportedly ready to spend £20million on QPR striker Adel Taarabt.

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has signed a new deal at Manchester City until 2015.

BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool's Luis Suarez has been charged by the FA over his racial incident with Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra.
