Hello and welcome to my latest blog post, where I have 6-match round-up + analysis from the matches that were played in the EPL today including Newcastle vs Liverpool and Wigan vs Tottenham.

Manchester City 2 West Ham United 1
This was the early afternoon kick-off, as 2nd placed City hosted mid-table side West Ham at The Ethiad Stadium.

Argentinan striker Sergio Aguero broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with his 11th EPL goal of the season after a nice one-two pass between Nasri and Silva found him inside the box, with an easy tap-in finish.

Wigan Athletic 2 Tottenham Hotspur 2
This was a crunch match at the DW Stadium, as both sides needed points in their respective places in the table.
Spurs knew that a win would move them above 3rd placed Arsenal who play tomorrow against Manchester United at 4pm, while Wigan needed a win to move above Aston Villa, out of the relegation zone.

Tottenham started off well, with Welsh winger Gareth Bale breaking the deadlock in the 9th minute with his 19th EPL goal of the season.
Wigan defender Emmerson Boyce equalised just two minutes later, before Calum Mcmanaman gave Wigan the lead shortly after half-time in the 49th minute.

Newcastle United 0 Liverpool 6
This match was played at the Sports Direct Arena, as relegation-fighters Newcastle hosted a motivated Liverpool side who wanted to try and move on after the Suarez controversy of last Sunday, when he bit Ivanovic during the match against Chelsea at Anfield.
