Arsenal vs Tottenham: LIVE Commentary

Hello and welcome to my latest EPL blog with 8 matches today, incluing the much anticipated North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.

12:55:

10 minutes gone, and Arsenal are trailing by 1 goal to nil thanks to former player Emmanuel Adebayor.
He beat the offside trap beating cooly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Wojiech Szczesny. 1-0 to Spurs, and Arsenal are failing to cope with the pressure.

Poacher: Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor beats the offside trap to score the opening goal.
On top: Adebayor celebrates his goal against his former club after 10 minutes with Defoe.

13:05:

The pressure is building at The Emirates for both sides, after striker Emmanuel Adebayor was given a straight red card after a late and high challenge on Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla.

Adebayor argues with Howard Webb after his foul on Cazorla earns him a straight red.

13:10:

GOAL! Arsenal were piling the pressure on Spurs for the past 5 minutes, and it has finally paid off after a great ball into the box drilled in by winger Theo Walcott found defender Per Mertesacker whose powerful header flew past French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris into the top corner of the net to equalise for The Gunners.

It was coming: Mertesacker heads in Arsenal's equaliser inside the box after a cross from Walcott.

1st time for everything: Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker celebrates his great header to equalise.

FACT: That is Per Mertesacker's 1st goal for Arsenal since moving from Werder Bremen last year.

13:32:

HALF-TIME:

What a dramatic first half at The Emirates. Arsenal lead by 3 goals to 1, after trailing by 1 goal to nil thanks to strikers Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski with nice, clean strikes past unsettled goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Breakthrough: Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski hits a strike to make it 2-1 in the 42nd minute.

Just before half-time: Giroud makes it 3-1 in the 45th minute with a shot from close range.
Still a waste of money? Giroud celebrates his 7th goal for Arsenal after a £12million move from Montpellier in the summer.

Tottenham are down to ten men after Adebayor's late challenge, and they could get thrashed if they do not tighten the defence and contain a motivated Arsenal. Could be shades of 5-2 all over again...

14:40:

WHAT. A. SECOND. HALF.

Final score: Arsenal 5 Tottenham 2

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla set his side up on their way to victory with a goal in the 60th minute, before Tottenham winger Gareth Bale gave Spurs slight hope of a comeback in the 71st minute.

4 for Arsenal: Midfielder Santi Cazorla slots the ball past Lloris to make it 4-1 against Spurs.
Back in it? Tottenham winger Gareth Bale makes it 4-2 in the 71st minute.

The last 20 minutes were tense for Arsenal fans as the game tilted back and forth, but winger Theo Walcott ended Spurs' hopes of salvaging a point away from home in the 90th minute with a nice finish.

Didn't think so: Theo Walcott completes the thrashing to make it 5-2 after 90 minutes.
Deja vu: Walcott celebrates his goal with his team-mates, after Arsenal beat Tottenham 5-2 for the second time in two seasons.

Arsenal move up to 6th place with 19 points while Tottenham drop to 8th.
