Paper Talk, news updates and latest transfer rumours:

Hello again everyone and welcome to my latest blog post, where I have the latest paper talk, football news updates and transfer rumours. 

With just over a week to go until the start of the World Cup, many of the international teams have already confirmed their 23-men squads, and the club teams especially in the EPL are eager to do most of their transfer business quickly before a desired players' market value increases as a result of their performance in Brazil.

This means that transfer rumours are hectic and constant, especially from the bigger clubs who are all eager to improve their squads ahead of the start of the new season in August. This makes for both an intriguing and exciting period of football; with the biggest international tournament taking place and the transfer deals of the summer transfer market being finalised.

Before I start, here is the official list of the notable transfers of the players who have already signed deals to join other clubs, in Europe and the EPL:

Here are the latest transfer rumours and news updates from across the world:

Chelsea's legendary midfielder Frank Lampard has reportedly agreed to join MLS side New York City - the soccer complex which is owned by Manchester City after being told that he would not be offered a new deal at The Blues.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona winger (and current Atletico Madrid forward) David Villa has announced that he will leave the Liga BBVA champions after recieving an "irrestible offer" from the MLS club. 

Villa was seen having his medical on Saturday afternoon in Manchester, and said this in a message to fans published on the Atletico website:

"It is an irresistible project for me and my family, it is very, very good. It is about football and I have to accept it, I will be a fan of Atletico all my life for what they have given me this year."

Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker is reportedly thinking about making a shock return back to White Hart Lane, after leaving Spurs last summer after a lack of first-team football.

Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly set to leave Barcelona this summer, with a move back to the Premier League as his preffered option.

The Spanish club are willing to sell the creative midfielder, as he does not figure in their plans for next season - and Fabregas has a £30million pound release clause written into his contract. 

Arsenal have "first-choice" on where Fabregas' future lies, and it is also thought that Wenger is interested in a move for his former captain.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has identified some transfer targets that he is looking to sign this summer; Colombian striker Victor Ibarbo for £8million as a replacement for Loic Remy who is set to leave and Montpellier's creative midfielder Remy Cabella to replace Yohan Cabaye who left for PSG in January.

Liverpool have reportedly offered £16.2million pounds plus young forward Suso in a bid to sign Sevilla's young full-back Alberto Moreno.

And lastly:

Liverpool are set to confirm the signing of Southampton striker Rickie Lambert for £4million pounds, he has already completed his medical and was allowed to leave the England national squad for Monday's unveiling.

This is expected to mean the departure of Italian striker Fabio Borini, who could join Sunderland on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell this season.
