Paper Talk: Transfer rumours, latest news, done deals and updates -

Hello again everyone and welcome to my latest blog post, where I have the latest paper talk in the media - football news updates and transfer rumours from across the world, including Europe and the EPL.

With the World Cup poised to get underway in a matter of hours, transfer rumours and news updates are running rampant as clubs are desperate to sign their players before the World Cup begins - their market value may increase, so they are eager to get their transfer business done quickly and efficiently to avoid a potential bidding war.

There have been more and more confirmed deals gone through already this summer, and although the start of the summer transfer window officially begins on the 1st of July, many clubs have signed agreements to buy players from other teams.

I will do my best to have at least one blog post each week about the latest transfer rumours, news and updates.

Here is the latest -

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has reportedly been told that he still has a future at the club, despite the impending £32million pound signing of fellow Spanish striker Diego Costa.

Meanwhile, young Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is unsettled by the transfer talk, and is willing to leave Chelsea if it means that he will play first-team football.

Successful loan spells, but will he leave Chelsea?
The Blues have loaned Lukaku out twice in the past two seasons, both being successful at West Brom and Everton - Roberto Martinez has said that he would like to sign a deal permanently if possible.

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis is interested in making a move for Stoke City striker Peter Crouch, who could be available for under £2million pounds.

Some managerial movements in the past few days:

Current Hull boss Steve Bruce is heavily linked with an approach to join Southampton as their new manager, while sacked Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood could come back to the Premier League with a move to West Brom.

Atletico Madrid's 29-year-old centre-back Miranda has confirmed that his agent is in talks with an English club about a potential move, with Manchester United interested in his services.

Miranda is reportedly ready to sign a deal to join United, an estimated fee of £24m, his release clause.
Meanwhile Manchester neighbours Manchester City have rejected any approaches from European clubs for striker Stefan Jovetic, who joined at the start of the season but has struggled due to injuries and a lack of first-team football.

Potential to develop: Jovetic has struggled due to injury, but City are staying patient
DONE DEAL: Aston Villa have announced the free transfer signing of former Liverpool and Chelsea attacking midfielder Joe Cole on a two-year contract deal.

Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel is reportedly pondering a potential move back to Spain and is linked with a move to Valencia, after the Welsh club got relegated this season.

Hull manager Steve Bruce has four clear transfer targets:
  • Joleon Lescott from Manchester City
  • Michael Dawson, who plays for Tottenham
  • Jose Fonte from Southampton
  • And, Blackpool winger Tom Ince
Arsenal are reportedly ready to sign former forward Carlos Vela next season, as Real Sociedad's president confirmed that The Gunners will use their £3.2million pound buy-back clause to get the Mexican back.

NEWS UPDATE: Southampton defender Dejan Lovren has handed in a transfer request at The Saints.

Wants to leave: Lovren joined Southampton at the start of the season, but is seeking CL football
Having been constantly linked with a move to Liverpool, the 24-year-old centre-back has said that he wants to leave the club based on the fact that he wants to play in the Champions League, and managerial changes.

DONE DEAL: PSG forward Jeremy Menez is set to undergo a medical before his proposed move to AC Milan is completed, he has already agreed terms with the Serie A side and is set to join in the coming days.

Bayern Munich have announced that Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller have signed new long-term deals with the club.

Club captain Lahm has committed himself to a new four-year contract with Muller, a reported target of Manchester United, signing a new five-year deal.

"Both Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller are very important elements of Bayern Munich," said the club's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Lahm had this to say: "This is definitely my last contract and I will end my career at Bayern Munich. That was always my wish and I'm delighted it has happened."

"Both have remained faithful to this club right from the very start of their careers and they are also going to play an important role here in the future.

"We are very happy that both have decided to commit their long-term futures to Bayern Munich.

DONE DEAL: Stoke City have completed the signing of Senegal striker Mame Biram Diouf.

Back in England: Diouf is set to join Stoke, 3 years after leaving Manchester United!

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract deal and will join the club on the 1st of July when his contract at Bundesliga side Hannover expires.
